Overview

"We are on a mission to get more flowers from California to their destination fresher and faster"

The California Association of Flower Growers and Shippers (CAFG&S) is a non-profit trade association established to represent the professional needs and interests of the floral industry in California. We offer a variety of services to strengthen the floral and agricultural industries by increasing the flow of products from California to destinations throughout the world.

Incorporated in 1941, our association was initially developed to aid floral shippers in the San Francisco Bay Area with moving their products. As the California floral industry began to grow, it became clear that a strong trade association was needed to unite and strengthen the industry. Although our efforts have focused primarily on enhancing the floral transportation network, we have also developed a variety of services to help our members thrive in an evolving industry.

Over the years, our services have changed with the industry's changing needs, but our goals remain constant: to build a better business environment in which our members may operate, to promote the sale of California cut flowers, and to provide the best possible services for our members' use in their daily operations.

The association is governed by a board of directors, elected annually, and is equally balanced with growers and shippers representing each of the four membership areas in California: North, North Central, South Central and South. Committees are established for specific areas of interest, to develop and maintain membership benefit programs. A full-time staff, committed to serving the membership, supports the board of directors, committees, and CAFG&S members.
